More about Dr. Hardee
Dr. Angelica Hardee is a seasoned public health professional with over 10 years of experience advancing health equity, driving systemic change, and leading regional strategies that address some of the most pressing health challenges facing communities today. Her work spans many areas, including cardiovascular disease prevention, hypertension prevention, and advocacy, all grounded in a commitment to health justice and community engagement.
With deep expertise in policy, systems, and environmental change, Dr. Hardee leads collaborative efforts to improve community health outcomes by reducing the prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension, expanding access to nutritious foods, and mobilizing multi-sector partnerships to share best practices and accelerate health innovations. She works directly with neighborhood coalitions, researchers, health systems, and advocacy groups to identify priorities, design solutions, and build sustainable pathways toward healthier, more equitable communities.
In addition to her public health practice work, Dr. Hardee is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and co-director of a doctoral public health program, where she mentors students and guides hands-on, practice-based learning in public health program planning, policy development, and evaluation.
Dr. Hardee is an active leader in national public health networks, including her elected role within the American Public Health Association’s Community Health Planning and Policy Development section. A committed civic leader, she has served on numerous boards focused on primary care, reproductive health, food access, and community research engagement. Her leadership has supported local and regional initiatives that improve maternal and child health outcomes, address chronic disease, and build stronger, more connected communities.
Widely recognized for her impact, Dr. Hardee has received numerous awards, including honors from Black Health Connect Forty under 40, the University of Cincinnati, Cradle Cincinnati, and YWCA Rising Stars, among others. She has also been recognized nationally for her leadership in advocacy, equity, and next-generation public health innovation.
A proud native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Hardee holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in public health and global health systems from the University of Cincinnati.
